💡 Living organisms, such as humans, animals, and plants, differ from non-living things, such as rocks, water, and air. They eat, breathe and grow.
💡 When you look closely at living organisms, pay attention to shape, color, and size.
💡 You can group living organisms by looking at their color and shape.
💡 The place where a living organism lives is called its habitat.
💡 In the deserts of Egypt, living organisms have special body shapes and ways of living that help to adapt with the harsh environment.
💡 Many insects begins from eggs.
💡 Butterflies grow in this order: Egg → Larva → Pupa → adult insect. Dung beetles and bees are also in this group.
💡 The body of an adult butterfly: It is made of 3 parts: Head, Thorax, and Abdomen.
💡 Most plants start growing from seeds.
💡 After you sow seeds and wait for a while, sprouts will come out.
💡 When plants grow big, they make buds, bloom flowers, and then make fruits.
💡 A plant's body is made up of three main parts.
💡 Objects that emit their own light, such as the Sun and lamps, are called light sources.
💡 Using a magnifying glass, you can gather sunlight from a wide area into a single point.
💡 Direction of Shadows: Shadows are made in the opposite direction of the light source (e.g. sun).
💡 The sun appears in the sky that it rises from the East then it sets in the West. When the sun moves, the direction of the shadow (which is on the opposite side from the sun) also changes.
💡 The ground in sunny places becomes warmer than the ground in shady places. This is because sunlight warms the sunny ground.
💡 When an object makes a sound, it is shaking. This shaking is called vibration.
💡 When the amount of vibration changes, the volume of the sound changes.
💡 The vibration of sound travels not only through the air but also through solid objects like string.
💡 A force is a push or pull that can cause a stationary object to move, stop a moving object, or change the direction of its motion. The greater the force, the greater its effect on the object.
💡 When the wind strength is the same, and in the same direction of the body movement, the larger surface area that catches the wind (the sail), the bigger the power it gets from the wind.
💡 A rubber band has a nature to try to return to its original shape when it is stretched. You can use the power of a stretched rubber band to make things fly or make cars run.
💡 The longer you stretch the rubber band, the stronger the power to move things becomes.
💡 The speed at which water soaks into the ground depends on the size of the particles that make up the soil.
💡 To move a giant stone statue, a very large force was needed.
Every lesson: a big question, an experiment the child does on screen, the book's own «Science words», then the book's questions. A wrong answer shows the book sentence with the answer. Many lessons end with a short game: the living-things basket, the sharp photographer, Mummy Butterfly, when do we sow?, the light maze, the sun clock, who is making a sound? and the rubber slingshot. Each chapter ends with a chapter test that tells parents which lessons need review, and finishing a chapter with at least two stars in every lesson earns its badge to share.
